Booth NO.: 5B-C21

The spotlight is on the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2011 (Autumn Edition) as the best place to boost business and meet customers from all around the globe. This is Asia’s largest lighting event and the second largest in the world – in 2010 it attracted a record-breaking 2,028 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, representing a 13% increase over the previous year.

A record-breaking 30,000-plus buyers, an increase of 9% over the previous year, attended the fair. There was an encouraging increase in buyers from mature markets, including France, Germany and North America. And there was also a larger presence of visitors from emerging markets, including as, Brazil, Chinese mainland, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia and Thailand.

Target zones
It’s not just about size. The fair is also very effective in that it ensures exhibitors can meet the right buyers for their business. Themed product zones highlight key sectors in the industry.

The LED & Green Lighting Zone was a major focus in 2010, when it attracted 38% of all exhibitors, and is set to be even more important in 2011. Strong demand for LED, energy-saving and other environmentally friendly products in a huge range of applications, including residential, retail and architectural, is driving the growth in this industry sector. New technologies are continually being developed, and buyers are eager to be able to source the latest LED products at the show.

Another highlight of the fair is the Hall of Aurora, home to top-notch branded lighting collections – 383 brands from 27 countries and regions joined in 2010. The elegant surroundings of this zone reflect exhibitors’ products to best effect. Other zones are: Commercial Lighting; Household Lighting; Outdoor Lighting; Lighting Accessories, Parts & Components; Lighting Management, Design & Technology; and Trade Service & Publication.

Creative inspiration
The show incorporates a display of the winning entries in the Open and Student categories of the 5th Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition, showcasing innovative and creative design in lighting.

Industry developments
Also adding value to the show experience is the seminar series. This is a key aspect of the Lighting Fair, given the tremendous advances being made in the industry through the development of new technologies. Topics covered also include design trends and market intelligence.

Hong Kong hub
Hong Kong is a logical place to hold a show of this magnitude and importance. The city has a highly developed and diversified lighting industry of its own. Its focus today is on technological developments, quality, strong design and brand image.

Quality service
The downtown location of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is convenient for exhibitors and buyers, with excellent connectivity to the rest of the city. Facilities at the fairground include courtesy e-mail centres, free shuttle bus, business centre and Wi-Fi access. Buyers can use the business matching service to identify suitable exhibitors both before via the fair website and easily find booths through the touch-screen exhibitor location facility at the fair.

Quality buyers
Through its market intelligence activities, aided by its network of offices around the globe, HKTDC identifies important buyers in the lighting industry from mature and emerging markets to fully publicise the benefits of visiting the fair.
