Currently, about one third of the existing street lightings have been used for more than 40 years in German. Meanwhile, incandescent lamp and MV lamp is being forbid from 2012 in Euro.The traditional street light will be replaced by more energy efficient LED lamps bit by bit. Because of LED lighting has clear advantages such as double-digit energy reduction with nearly free maintenance fee, the energy-saving and efficient LED which will be used in streets and buildings may save euro 1 billion every year.
 

The German government will invest 410 million Euros to promote the development of optical technology from 2012. In the field of LED, Germany is the largest and fastest-growing market in Euro. It is assessed that German LED market turnover growth will maintain the annual growth of 26.6% in 2016.
